Nassam Muhammad Alfa was born to the family of Alhaji Muhammad Nasamu Aluko on the 25th of June, 1954. He attended Kasandubu Qur’anic School and Ansaul-Islam primary school , both at Oke-Aluko in the year 1968 and 1969respectively.
After primary school education, he proceeded to Ansarul-Islam Grammar School, Ijomu, Oro as a pioneer student where he graduated in 1974. He qualified as a grade two (2) teacher in 1976 at Offa Teacher’s College.
He therefore taught between 1976 and 1977 at Okelele Primary School, now Amule Government Day Secondary School. In the year 1977, he proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to read Diploma in Mathematics and graduatedin 1979. Nassam M. Alfa taught Mathematics at Oro Grammar School, Oro under Kwara State Schools Board now Kwara State Teaching Service Commission.He went for return course at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1981 and completed his BSc (Ed) Mathematics in 1984. He continued his service with School Board, National Youth Service Corp (N.Y.S.C) inclusive at Ansarul-Islam Secondary School, Oloje, Ilorin from 1984-1990.
In 1990, he was appointed as the substantive principal of Ansarul-Islam Secondary School, Morafa, Oja. In 1994, he was seconded to State Primary Education Board (SPEB) now State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). AS A MATHEMATIC EDUCATOR, HE WAS VERY ACTIVE IN MATHEMATICAL ASSOCIATION OF NIDERIA (M.A.N.) In 1997, he was appointed as the Substantive Secondary Local Government Education Authority (SSLGE) of the newly created Ilorin South. In 2004, he returned to State Primary Education Borad (SPEB) after completion of his tenure and charge of government. In 2006, he was appointed the Secretary Teaching Service Commission, the position he held till his voluntary retirement in 25th June, 2014.
“the professional body exposed me to many cities In the country which includes Bauchi, Port Harcout, Benin, Uyo, Kaduna, Lagos, Katsina, Zaria, Gusau and Kano among others for mathematics conference and seminars. I also attended international seminars in Ghana and Kenya under the auspices os Kwara State Government”.
He was the state publicity secretaryfrom 1987-1989, general secretary from 1989-1994, the Chairman from 2000-2002. As education secretary, he was secretary of secretarians from 1999-2004. He is presently the first vice chairman of Ilorin branchof Ansarul-Islam society of Nigeria. He is a member of Muhammad Kammalul-deen college management board. He is a member of Ilorin zone education committee of Ansarul-Islam Society of Nigeria. He is also a member of Royal Royal Crescent Valley International School Management Board and Minute Secretary of Muhammad Kkammal-deen Education Foundation (M.U.K.E.F). He is happily married with children and grand children.
